Drowning

Drowning in my sorrows, and soon forgotten tomorrows. My past haunts me like a ghost. The cold chill I get when my mind says your name. A part of me stolen, only a tainted piece does remain. Forever reminded of a love gone wrong, a love long gone. You syphoned from my heart until it ran dry. Left me to wither, and slowly but surely, you left me to die. If this hollowed out carcass is what we call living, then I chose death. I chose to forget, to lose sight of the past. No more regrets, remember forever never lasts.
