2012 in review

WordPress produced a report for my blog and I just wanted to say while I am still just a small blog, I am thrilled to see how many people have actually either followed me or stopped by just to check out some of my poetry.  I started this blog to get some words off my chest, and in doing so have found a new home.  I am very happy to be able to share my thoughts and feelings through poetry for all of you to see.  It has been a great year for me for learning about the blogging world, and I plan to continue for awhile.  🙂  Thank you for every like, and every comment, it really does make me smile to know that something I wrote can be enjoyed by others as well.  I hope you all have a happy new year.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 3,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 5 years to get that many views.

Peering into the broken mirror
Absorbing all that I have seen
Putting it back together piece by broken piece
Until all is reassembled
Leaving behind only these lonely pieces of me
The shards that crumble in my hand
Are all that now remain
Like a puzzle missing pieces
I am unfinished once again

Like water through the sands

your words slip right through me

to never hold within my hands

lost grip of a perfect love story

the one never to be told

faded deep into the night

still wrong throughout the cold

the one to never have been right

This sky is on fire

the clouds are burning down

fighting thoughts of degradation

leaving nothing in these hands

just soot stained fingerprints

around your forlorn throat

life outside you

lost within you

deep inside the fold

turned outside in

and inside out

it’s all the same

grasping onto everything

the wind perpetrates the embers

wreaking havoc on your soul

nothing left of your cooling ashes

nothing left to make you whole
